  • Vince Costanzo opened V & SM Costanzo Plumbing in 1962, in a premises located in a small tin shed, behind where the current Police Station is located in Stanthorpe. Vince was local to the district, and saw an opportunity for a business of this nature. He had completed his apprenticeship with R. Koina & Son in the years before. Vince moved the business to a more central and visible location, at 62 Maryland St shortly after outgrowing the small shed behind the Police Station.
  • Mario Torrisi, the nephew of Vince, started his apprenticeship at a young age in 1967. By 1982, both Mario and his older brother Frank were working in the business. Frank had completed an apprenticeship with Pierpoint Motors, and decided to move to the Sunshine Coast to further his career. Family ties brought Frank back to the district, and he then gained employment working in the Office with his Uncle Vince.
  • Vince had made the decision to move onto bigger and better opportunities, and the business was offered for sale. Mario, Frank¬† and Warren Barker were all interested in keeping the business venture on course. Warren was employed in the workshop. The business was sold to these three shareholders, and a trading name was formed to reflect this..........M.W.F Plumbing. The business grew over the years, and the adjoining building was utilised to gain space. A second shop was opened in Tenterfield. The business grew from strength to strength.
  • In 2014, Frank and Mario both decided to retire. Mario's 4 sons are the owners of the business now, with Steven and Michael in operational management. Mario can still be found working in the business from time to time, lending a helping hand and expertise his boys.
